I'm not wriggling out of it. That is what I think. I don't have a view on what Maferath had in his heart. The way the story goes, he didn't choose redemption--or else he chose it in a small quiet way that wasn't recorded--but I don't think that he did.

And what of the theologians who argue that he was blameless, because his betrayal made Andraste's martyrdom possible, meaning he served the greater good?

Andraste would have been a martyr, if it was the will of the Maker--and it was, and I am thankful for it. [Sincerely.] But how it happened--well, everyone has choice and free will, don't they?

I suppose that's the question, isn't it. If something is in the Maker's will, then how can human will compare?

[fairforce]

But on the other hand, couldn't you argue that the Maker gave us free will? So our free will is His will. He gave it to us for a reason.

Okay, new question. Could the Maker make a pork pie so big that even He couldn't eat it all?

Theologically speaking? Because I've always wondered how far east you can travel before you begin travelling west.

Ooh. Do you think that's what would happen? I always assumed that it just kept going.

But then where does it go? Or end? Unless you mean it goes forever.

Yes, exactly. Perhaps it's just ocean forever. Or perhaps eventually you bump up against the Fade. Or perhaps if you go far enough there'll be another land with a completely different set of people with a completely different set of problems. Scaly dragon-people who speak their own version of Trade and are worried about what would happen if Darkspawn reach the giant human slumbering underground and start the next Blight.

Ooh, but I would like to meet a scaly dragon-person. Can you imagine how thrilling it would be?
